The BIG news: PROJECT HOME!

It’s all happening. And it is super exciting. For the first time in Crowded Fire’s history we have secured our very own dedicated office and rehearsal space. 

You can find our new home at 870 Innes Ave in San Francisco. We have a gorgeous view of the bay in a spacious, secure, and friendly building. Christening the rehearsal room is the cast and production team for our upcoming West Coast premiere of INVASION!

Why is this so significant? It’s been four years now since the “old Z Space” disbanded and we found ourselves without access to a consistent rehearsal space or a proper office. In these four years of renting various spaces throughout SF, the Crowded Fire Resident Artists and staff have squeezed  into rooms too small, trucking props from one spot to the next, keeping vigil outside of random audition room doors to flag down lost actors, and hosting countless meetings in living rooms and coffee shops across the city.  We’ve felt like the kid who went away to college and then came back home to sleep on the couch; the art on stage was growing, but the artists and staff creating it were suffering. Today we can report that “the times they are a-changin’!” So “come gather ’round people,” because we have a new home.

This transition is without a doubt a huge step for the company. Dogged determination along with blood, sweat, and tears have gotten us here. Your support is a critical part in our continued growth. Our fundraising campaign is called PROJECT HOME because we are creating a sustainable space in which our resident and guest artists can come play, question, innovate, and create.
