Costume Design for GOOD GOODS

May 21st, 2012 | Blog, Good Goods | CF Monkey | No Comments

In GOOD GOODS playwright Christina Anderson specifies the following:

Time
Between 1961 and 1994.  A sliding scale in relation to time.

 Place
The side pocket of America.

How this plays out on stage conceptually is led by the director-designer team driving the visual and aural aesthetic. Costume designer Miyuki Bierlein aims to address the amalgamation of eras in GOOD GOODS by creating an overall look which simultaneously conveys a timelessness while also referencing significant fashion evolution related to the civil rights movement through individual characters. Check out her preliminary sketches below!
